Join our growing team today! We are currently looking for a dedicated Safety Assistant in Tangent, Oregon to support our Northwest Region safety efforts.
This position is responsible for assisting the NW Region Safety & Training Manager in coordinating, documenting, and administering the company safety programs to reduce or eliminate occupational injuries, illnesses and financial losses at regional, company or operational levels.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Collects and maintains records of near miss, incident, and other investigations/reviews Assists Risk Management program in reporting and tracking incidents involving third-party injuries and property damage Develops and maintains functional familiarity with Knife River's liability insurance coverages and claims reporting and monitoring procedures in order to provide support to Risk Management program as needed Responds to requests for information of historical safety performance in support of project bids Manages tracking software where applicable, for accurate and timely safety data input and management Processes invoices for vendor and claimant payment including OSHA-MSHA citations Analyzes safety records and injury reports for trends and patterns Looks for ways to reduce accidents & improve safety Schedules and monitors hearing testing and respirator fit testing and ensures records and results are tracked Coordinates communications between shops, sites, and safety office Ensures appropriate regulatory files and reports are submitted to the proper agency on a timely basis Coordinates safety and training programs as required Assist in MSHA, OSHA, DOT regulatory compliance May perform field audits and safety related reviews and training Works closely with field safety personnel Files records and other documentation Coordinates training class scheduling and prepares training records and materials Maintains stocks of PPE and other safety supplies for distribution to operations Perform other duties as assigned Compensation:

Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED equivalent Strong Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), and ability to use/learn Adobe Photoshop and InDesign required Experience in health and safety programs for industry, a regulatory government agency or similar organization or operational experience with strong safety focus/record preferred Must possess a valid state driver's license and have an acceptable driving record with the ability to travel Working knowledge of health and safety regulations related to construction materials industry preferred Working knowledge of construction materials equipment and operations preferred Certified trainer or significant experience in training preferred

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
